hey everyone,

I just finished "shadow of the giant" and something really annoys me:

if Randi got away from earth with the kid shouldn't we have heard of him in either of the enders books???
think about it the kid of bean and petra that has anton's key activited it's like the smartest human being ever to walk the universe. some kind of referance about him should have been visible in one of the books (at least the speaker for the dead when the talk is about what happened while they went through the stars) even if he didnt have kids after him. that leave us with a bit of a contrediction in the books(unless for some reason he dead before he reached the age of 15)

so, basically I guess I feel that an appendix should be written at the end of the book making sure that the kid died before he reached that age, otherwise we have a none consistent series on our hands.

p.s. - made a search looking for this topic so if someone already wrote about it sorry.

Discussions regarding OSC's novels usually go on the other side of the forum, Grendel. [Smile]

Also, OSC has said that he's planning a novel that joins the original quartet with the Shadow quartet, where we will inevitably hear about Achilles II.

sorry, only the second time I wrote something in here.

as for the answer, well a side novel would still come short of explaining the problem.

at the start of speaker for the dead we get a short detail on what happened while ender and his sis where at space, telling us among other things that ender wrote the hegomon book and so on...
how could something of this magnitude be missed in that part of this book?

ok now I would leave this topic... you can look at this thread dead if you feel like it

Could you edit your title? Not everyone on the forum has finished those books (up to this point) and some people who are only just starting on the shadow books won't appreciate the spoiler, or the ones in your posts.

Well, in the beginning of Speaker he didn’t say this was all that happened to Ender. Scott is very smart and fits lots of things together very nicely. Check out all the short stories he’s wrote in the Enderverse.

There are actually 2 more Ender books in the works. The first one, "Ender in Exile" takes place between SotG and SftD, and it will be about Ender meeting Randi and the 9th child. Therefore, Mr. Card will take care of things.

Will the Christmas book be anything like the Wookie Christmas Special I remember with dread from my otherwise perfect childhood.
