And all these years I thought I had only concocted memories of such a show.

Superbook was an early 80s anime that I remember being broadcast on a lot of local channels.

The basic premise was two sprite-like children and their zany robot get zapped into "Superbook"...which seems to be the Holy Bible with a high tech wormhole of some sort hooked into the pages.

It was pretty bizarre. I recall one local show even had very strange live action segments. A man would dress up like Gizmo the robot and dance around...*shiver*

Interesting. I had almost convinced myself I imagined the entire thing.

I think the series disturbed me so much -because- I had been taught the scripture stories from a very early age onward. I was familiar with them, and it had been emphasized that they were sacred stories.

So...two time-travel tykes and a "funny" robot seemed so intrusive to me...even as a little kid.
