I dunno -- any weather-types out there? Does weather have 30-year cycles? The last time I remember the PacNW getting all this snow was when I was a wee thing.

It's pretty, but it sure snarls up traffic. On account of not enough plows, salters and de-icers, and too many idiot drivers. *sigh*

Even the long-term residents here forget that underneath all that pretty snow is the wet stuff that froze first. And that the next day is usually worse cause then you get the ice-snow-more ice with a dusting of pretty snow montage.

Hmmm.

At least some area is getting snow. If the whole country were as warm as it is here on the East Coast I'd be pretty worried that we'd passed the point of no return with global warming.

Of course, as an increase in overall Earth temperature will mess up the jet streams, you can blame literally any weather problem on global warming and sound plausible ...

We are really, really enjoying it. I have had to drive a few times and that I did not like as much. The only bummer right now is that everyplace in walking distance is out of kid's snow boots and Andrew has none.

My oldest is reading "The Monkey's Paw" in school, and she mentioned that she had been wishing for snow and hoped it would make it to us. I told her dozens of people lay dead in the wake of this weather.

She just looked at me and said "Oh my gosh, the monkey's paw - it was my wish!"

I'm interpretting this ridiculous amount of PacNW snow and ice as one of the signs of the apocalypse.

FEEL FREE TO PROVE ME WRONG, WEATHER GODS.
