Not that I have an idea handy, mind you. I just downloaded the demo version of the screenwriting software Final Draft to see what it was like, and it's seriously cool.

It deduces what your next script element is going to be -- action, dialogue, scene setting, transistion, etc -- and formats accordingly. Not nearly as intrusive as when Word does that to me, mostly because in a script there are a very few options of formatting so it's more likely to do what I want. It autofills character names and even (when writing dialogue between characters) takes a guess at the next person to speak.

All suggested, to be approved with a click, but it makes writing a script MUCH faster. Sadly, the demo version only allows 15-page scripts and puts big DEMO marks over the printout, but maybe I could write something small...

Now I want to skip work and go write a script [Smile]

I used sophocles, once upon a time, and it was unbelievably user friendly. Sadly, it also had the big 36 font DEMO plastered across every page.

But it was very cool, especially the built-in stats listing each characters' lines, who they mostly interacted with, which settings where most used, and all kinds of other stuff. It also allowed notes on any and all lines, and made it easy to arrange the action in acts, which it outlined for you. It did the autofill stuff you mentioned as well.

Booster Gold

Okay, okay, it's probably not what your looking for, but I've been wanting a Booster Gold movie for a while and I think it's viable.

One, he's a superhero. That's still in right now, and after Spiderman 3 people should be excited by what the genre can do again.
Two, he's not like any superhero we've seen on the silver screen. He's selfish and doing this for fame and fortune (at the start, at least. Ripe for character development). He also doesn't have a hidden identity which opens up new dramatic territory to be explored in the genre.
Three, he's funny. And he's got a flying ballish robot to play off of. Booster: "I failed twentieth century history, you know?" Skeets: "Among your many accomplishments, sir."
Four, he has pretty high end technology, making for some nice visuals.
Five, time travel. He comes from the future; always fun to play with.

So, I know, I know, you probably wanted some real dramatic material like the Marquis de Sade or something. But you're a comic fan and Booster could be great.

Booster Gold as the Marquis de Sade! It sells itself!

BOOSTER
OK, Skeets, we're in 1772,
ready to use my... or
rather, your knowledge
of literature to become
a great and famous writer.
What's my next move?

SKEETS
You have to (mumble)

syphilis (mumble
whimsically abuse

I own this (the full version- my Birthday Present this year), and it is AWESOME. It is very, very much faster and so organised.

Expensive though, hence the Birthday Present.

And yes, it makes me far more likely to write scripts and plays, because I get to forget about arduous formatting.

LSM, see the Justice League Unlimited episode "The Greatest Story Never Told". Quite amusing...especially how everyone's response to Booster's help is "Thanks, Green Lantern!"

Hmmm...actually, the more I think about it, the more I like this "Booster Gold" idea. The opening sequence involves Booster stealing all his weapons from the museum he works at...and doing a horrible job of it.

*goes off and starts writing it himself*

Javert, I think that's one of the only two JLU episodes I've actually seen (if you're talking about the one I think you are). And it was hilarious.

Young Boy: Can I have your autograph?
Booster Gold: Sure you can!
Young Boy: I thought you were Green Lantern.
Skeets: I would like your autograph, sir.
Booster Gold: Shut up, Skeets.

...and...

Young Boy: Thank you, Green Lantern.
Booster Gold: I'm not Green Lantern! I'm Booster Gold! If I were Green Lantern, my costume would be green, now wouldn't it?!? I have officially hit rock bottom.

Man, I'm a dork. [Wink]

Check out "The Greatest Story Never Told"? Dude, that episode was almost as good as "Double Date". Which, by the way, could be expanded into a great series in itself.

Okay, let's go over everything so far. Chris, you'll be writing the movie in tandum with Javert on Teshi's computer. Call El JT de Spang if you have any questions. You'll then send it in to blacwolve's linky thing while Enigmatic is strapped down for a fifteen hour JLU marathon. The plot will involve the basic origin, some crazy fights, jokes, time screw ups, and the villain will appear to be the Marquis de Sade until it is revealed that it's actually Ricky Gervais. The Question will have a cameo.

Edit: Sorry, a time-traveling Ricky Gervais.
