Anterior meaning front of the neck where the trachea is.

It was a new experience, and felt a little weird.
Basiclly the MT pushes your trachea slightly to the side and massages posterior to the carotid artery.

Wouldn't recomend it to the feit of heart, I suppose. It's a good way to treat whiplash, which I kinda need, but I'm also a bit of a hypochondriac about it. I keep thinking that maybe an artery in my neck will get pinched off and decrease bloodflow to my head or something. I'm silly like that.

I believe that that particular style of massage is better known by its more common name, "throttling".

If I had to rank the parts of my body that I'd like to have massaged, the "posterior to the carotid artery" wouldn't even make it into the top 10.

What's even there to be massaged?

Is this a "massage" in the same sense that POWs are just "interviewed?"
