Have you ever read the Clan Apis graphic novel?
Jay Hosler wanted to tell a story about the life cycle of a bee...a story that was funny, exciting, interesting...and educational.
It's well worth checking out.
I'm not so sure about Jerry Seinfeld's upcoming project with Dreamworks Animation, Bee Movie.
Catchy title, huh?
There's a short teaser for it on the Over the Hedge DVD. The impression it gives is that the movie will be about nothing but the concept of Jerry Seinfeld in a CGI bee suit.
I know I'm judging early, but I think 2006 was the year when it officially became clear that merely putting a well known voice talent with a CGI critter isn't the surefire way to box office gold anymore.
I get the sinking feeling the entire point of the movie -is- what the teaser implied...it's a bee that talks like Jerry Seinfeld! That's the gag, the story, and bring on the fast food kids meal toys!
