Well, while I'm in Tampa, my parents decided it'd be a good idea to take care of this filling I need because the dentist here does amazing work.
While I was at the dentist, I decided to mention the excruciating earaches and fantastic jaw pain I've been having. And the dentist decided to take a billion x-rays because there are STILL holes in my mouth. Like, dark red holes (that I thought were black, which freaked me out because it made me think I had gangrene of the jaw).
Turns out, there are fragments of bone and root from my Fantastic Wisdom Teeth Voyage still hanging out in my jaw, which is why the left side still hasn't healed.
So instead of getting a filling, I'm getting a referral to an oral surgeon in Louisiana so that I can have another surgery to slice my jaw open again and get all of that stuff out. Whee!
Sorry, just...must express extreme frustration with dentist who botched original extraction.
Edit because "bones" rhymes with "clones," teehee!

He said the surgery is a higher priority than the filling because my jaw might try to fill in the bone funny to compensate for the foreign objects.
I am so angry. I called my New Orleans dentist and told them the situation and asked if they would recommend anyone, and they totally didn't give a care. Ugh.

Here's a zombie tooth bone attack related medical question:
Penicillin can increase your sensitivity to sunlight, right? If so, is there a way to prevent that beyond my Ozone SPF 70 Sunblock for Those of the Vampiric Persuasion?
Edit: I leave for South America tomorrow, and I have this penicillin to take in case of infection so that I won't have to find a foreign dentist.

Yeah, you don't want one of those. . . I had a bunch of work done while on my mission in Brazil and all of it had to be torn out and re-done within a couple of years after I got back to the States.

Update: *sigh* I go to see a surgeon next Friday. They were going to make me wait until February, but I said, "Can't someone just see me really quick and at least tell me what needs to be done? I'm in a lot of pain." Hopefully he's a good doctor...he comes well-recommended. And half of my classes are independent studies this semester, so hopefully missing school won't be too much of an issue. Missing work won't be good, though.

I saw the surgeon this morning, and he almost actually did the procedure this morning as well.
He looked at the x-rays and took one of his own, and he thinks the problem is probably either small fragments of tooth or infected tissue instead of an actual root. And then he was all, "Yeah, we'll just need to open that up right along the old incision line and clean it out really well. Hey, assistant, bring me those consent forms."
Except I was going to have a heart attack, so instead I scheduled it for Thursday. He said it should be a lot simpler than the extraction (hah!).
And the best part is, he's only charging $100. Of course, that's only with novocaine and nitrous. So I might have to call on Monday and ask if they can give me a sedative, which will probably bring the price up. But considering what the other guy charged for the extraction, WOW.
