just got back from kennesaw. the two places i like the best actually were Milstead Village and TownPark crossing, even tho i looked at more than just those two. also, when i went to kennesaw for Nerdfest to meet some of you, i instantly realized that it was in Mistead Village. not sure, but i think his name was John??? anyway, if i do move in there, i was wondering if you would like to split the referal money with me. it would be $150 each.

If you do decide on Milstead Village, we would be more than happy to split the referral money.

We really do enjoy living here; when we've had issues or questions the management has been helpful and friendly. There have been a few downsides, like the waterbugs that infest the complex from August to October -- exterminators have been fruitless and they really are in all of the buildings and parking lots -- and the recent trend of people parking in places that aren't really parking spots making it difficult to drive around sometimes. But other than those two things, everything here has been great. If we had to do it over, we'd still pick this place. So yeah.

Fellow owls on hatrack then? Or just people who live nearby?

I live on campus.

Ben is finishing up his undergrad there.

Tante, you should come down and visit your BIL sometime before we leave in the spring.

It seems unlikely. Not that I have anything against the brother-in-law. I just have family commitments that make it exceedingly difficult for me to travel.

"Which campus would that be?"

KSU.. is ther emore than one campus? if so i guess i havent really looked into it enough. i applied for student housing, but i was 93 out of 97 on the waiting list.

Ben and Ophelia: i met Rachel from the office and she was by far the most helpful and knowledgable guide out of all the complexes i visited. i really like complex. the one downside i saw right off the bat is that there is poarking on both sides of the buildings and i really like having trees around. also, Rachel told me that general events for the renters seem to fail kinda often from lack of participation.

so yeah, i really liked milstead village and townpark crossing. either way they about a min away from each other and i look forward to hanging out with some fellow kennesaw based hatrackers soon.

EDIT: also, im looking for a roommate for the spring. i plan on moving towards the end of dec or early jan. if anyone is possibly interested please let me know asap.

I go to Tech, but I'm not from Georgia so I don't know the general area very well. I know there are a lot of colleges vaguely around here, and I know someone who commutes to here from Kennesaw (the county). I figured I'd check.

Um, I don't think there is a Kennesaw County in Georgia. Kennesaw is a city in Cobb County.

Ah. See what I mean about not knowing the area? I find the county/town system very strange here. You can live in a county but not be in a town, and people tend to associate more with their county than their town any way. Not at all like what I'm used to.

Yeah, it is really weird. While my address says Kennesaw, I don't technically live there -- I live in Cobb County between Kennesaw and Marietta. And when I "lived in Athens" it was technically just Clarke County. It wasn't like that in Michigan and it wasn't like that in Texas. It actually took me two years of living in Houston before I knew what county I lived in, because no one ever talked about Harris County, they just talked about Houston. Georgia is weird.

Aye, I'm sure it's near impossible to get a room mid year.

I wasn't aware that the county thing was weird. So most people only associate with their city?

I don't know about most places, but I'm from the northeast where everything is packed in densely enough that it's literally town after town after town. The idea that you can drive through a place that doesn't belong to any town is just weird to me.

well its like the the closer u get to atlanta. but the further away u go, the smaller the cities. and ppl will end up living between these smaller cities and u need a form of govt for them too. blah, ok i dont feel like i need to explain it to anyone on these forums. this is prolly one of the most intelligent group of posters of all the forums i post on. time to go to class!

And we would love to split a referral with you down the middle. I would not say no to extra cash.
