Isn't that just the best line ever? What I wouldn't give to be able to see that again for the first time...

<--just got finished watching Empire on new LCD tv, and is very happy.

It might be. Many of us born in the decades after the film was released found out that Vader is Luke's father before we ever saw the movies. It was never a shocking as it should have been.

I was flipping through the stations the other day and came upon a Univision soap opera, all in Spanish.

This guy was in the middle of a room with a bunch of people, and he's screaming, "Who's my father? Who's my father?" I turned to my wife and said "I am your father" in my limited Spanish. Then in the soap opera, this evil guy with a eyepatch comes into the scene and declares, "I am you father!" (like the exact way I had just said it). Then, I kid you not, the guy on screen screams, "Noooooooooo. Noooo, no!" I couldn't stop laughing for like 10 minutes.

I think Strangelove is gonna play this weekend on TCM, in case you are interested... and in response to Inigo Montoya... that is my favorite movie...

Tarrsk, I don't know why that wasn't the first quote to pop in my head. I feel ashamed.

Thanks Jon, but I own all Kubrick's movies on dvd. No need to be at the whim of my cable box.

Not to be picky, but it's Indigo Montoya. Andre keeps calling him In-di-go. I hate it when people get that wrong.

google battle:

my name is Inigo Montoya - 165,000

my name is Indigo Montoya - 44,000

Inigo wins! I'm actually surprised "Indigo" had so many hits. it's some sort of mass delusion.

I'm not even sure what stihl1 is exactly trying to say. he seems to contradict himself in the post.

I tried to think of something from the Big Lebowski. I couldn't do it. It's too hard to just pick a single line. That, and most them have language that Hatrack seems to find inappropriate. As far as I'm concerned, almost every line in the script is a classic.

"offer me money"

"yes"

"power too, promise me that"

"all that i have and more"

"offer me everything I ask for"

"anything you want"

"I WANT MY FATHER BACK YOU SON OF A XXXXX"

*drives the sword into Rugen*

oh man, that gets me every time.

Fitz, agreed 100%. The thing with Lebowski is it's not about any one line, it's the interchange that's classic.

But here's one that only involves one character and no swearing! What are the odds?

"Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

jeez, every single thing Quintana says is automatically not suitable for posting

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be:

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man." - The Dude

But a lot of that line is in the delivery.

Andre is almost impossible to understand. I never knew what he said while wearing the holocost cloak until I read the book.

If you're looking for somebody to back you up in that movie, Fezzick is the least credible character possible.

Oh, and it's definitely Inigo.

hah. THAT Andre, didn't make the connection. yeah, what mph said. Fezzick is impossible to understand in the movie half the time, unless you know every line by heart which is most of us I'm sure.
