My younger brother Adrian Bradley is now the highest ranking Canadian in the Magic the Gathering Limited rankings. Is now 13th no wait correction 11th in the top 50.

Pfft, I could rock him with my mostly 3rd edition deck.
I have a white/red deck that could wipe the floor with him. Hold on, let me go grab it....and while I'm there I'll grab my 12 year old self...Hm, I can't seem to find either.

That's pretty cool. I really enjoy Limited, but I don't get to play [Magic] nearly as often as I'd like.

While I realize you were kidding, this is actually extremely unlikely unless you were to confine him to Limited*. The game has evolved considerably since Revised.
*Limited formats involve making the best 40-card deck you can from a random assortment of 75-105 cards.

I used to play a lot way back in the days of Revised/4th Ed/5th Ed.
I tried to get back into it a few years ago. As I recall the big expansion out at the time was Onslaught, and the best way to win was with all-elf decks in which every card gained +1 to something for every elf you control.
I didn't much enjoy that style of play.

I played from Revised through Ice Age, primarily, with a brief Renaissance during Tempest. I much prefered sealed deck and limited tourneys, just because I knew I was a better *player* than most of my opponents though I may not have had the money to buy the best *cards* for self-made decks.

I started around Revised and stopped around Visions. A number of years later, though, I got back into it with a friend of mine -- this was Invasion block, around when Apocalypse came out. That was a really fun set, I enjoyed the off-colour gold cards. Then we stopped for another few years, until we happened to be living close to each other at the same time again. Coincidentally, that was when Mirrodin came out, which has since become my all-time favourite Magic expansion, displacing Alliances. We played a ton of Mirrodin block.
I haven't played much since then, other than a single Limited tourney at the Ravnica release. I liked what I saw in that block, but since my friend wasn't living nearby and the only significant local tournament scene was Standard, I couldn't justify investing in cards. I really like what I've seen in the current Time Spiral block, though, so I have my eye out for a Limited Planar Chaos release tournament.

I got in when Ice Age was the brand new edition, I played for several years and realized it was bankrupting me. I stopped for all of highschool and as a missionary obviously and upon returning Mirrodin block was the news big deal. I played in a 5th dawn preview tournament and did well, but realized once again that I was going to be broke if I kept playing.
Now I play the WOW CCG and it basically forces me to only work on one deck at a time as assembling a good "hunter" deck or any other class for that matter is WAY hard. Hopefully Ill phase out of CCGs forever one day and cut my losses.

I just remember getting out shortly after the expansion that included phasing because it was just pissing me off how much they were throwing things in that seemed to really alter normal gameplay. Give me a game up through around iceage any day and I'll be happy. Though I'll admit some of what can be done with newer stuff is neat also.
