We just signed the purchase agreement for our first home. Its exciting and terrifying, but after looking for the better part of two years, we finally found a home that met all our criteria, and suited our personalities as well.

Here's a photo we took a couple days ago. The best thing about it is it abuts some conservation land; not a lot (just a few acres) but our daughter already loves taking walks in the woods and up the hill.

Oh, and just for reference (and because I find it infuriating) here is a comparably priced home in the area of Utah where I grew up. Roughly four times the size, four times the property, and four times newer. Not saying I'd trade our house for this, just jealous of areas where housing prices aren't astronomical.

Do you mind if I ask how much it was? My wife and I are house hunting. We already have a .25 lot, but it is in a dust bowl.

You said you wish you had Utah prices. My experiences are that Utah prices are astronomical. How much is that large Utah home? What city is it in?

Thanks.

I'll email you the price, and a little about our experience.

Congratulations -- looks like a lovely spot.

I'm in Georgia now, and I don't think I can ever move. Everything's more expensive everywhere else I've lived.
