Never heard of Anna Nicole Smith until now?

Don't give a flying crap about the cause of her death?

Unimpressed by NASA's adult diaper technology?

Saddened that the debates on global warming and the Iraq war are being derailed by these news curiosities?

Please sign along the dotted line. Or maybe just read the New York Times or Herald Tribune.

What was that you said? Iraq war? There's a war going on? And global warming? Does that mean I'm going to sweat more? What's the big deal?

Those diapers on the other hand ... that's some real practical stuff right there. And Anna Nicole Smith is (was) a cultural icon! Kind of like ... Winona Ryder.

What a sad statement on American "culture".

I personally think that we should have less threads about these happenings.

And, of course, fewer people posting in such threads.

Speaking of Anna Nicole, I saw "The Queen" today, and I was reflecting on the differences between the aftermath of Diana's death and what's happening now with Anna Nicole. When Princess Di passed away, people cared. A hell of a lot. It does not seem that many people care that Anna Nicole died. Beyond the news networks, of course. I think this is because Diana was an interesting person, while Anna Nicole was just loud. Thoughts?

Interesting comparison GForce.

If you look at the general public reaction to the two deaths (and NOT the media reaction), I think you get a better picture of where these two women "stand" in the public eye.

Filliam, or it doesn't make any sense. Last time checked, Phelicity isn't a name.
