I followed the link to the reviews of the book on Amazon and I was impressed to see that OSC already had some portion of his World Watch Essay posted there. I also was again disgusted at the presence of so many patently 'commercial' reviews even by publishing agents, to pad the rating.
I saw this with the Winter's Heart reviews but when the bad ratings so overwhelmed the cushion Amazon began trimming the reviews back and so many of those early ones were padding that it kept the rating in the middle. This is akin to the Wikepedia process I guess where everything is spin and publicists. I think that there should be a some sort of reverse censoring going on, we need some Russian judges out there to even out all these perfect 10 scores.
