The interesting thing about the project is that it and the release TBA American Dog are both "transitional period" films...they cross the regime change to the period when Lasseter came on. It's been confirmed that Lasseter and some of the Pixar crew "gently retooled" the second and third acts of this film.

It looks cute.

It looked alright until it got to "...find the family he never had." Can't they find some other story to beat for a while?

I've seen a ton of previews for this lately. For the most part it looks rather uninteresting to me, except for the part with the villain and the tyrannasauras rex.

"Why aren't you seizing the boy?"
"I have a big head and little arms!"

I swear to god, I laugh so hard at that every time I see it that I almost suffocate to death. But other than that scene, nothing about the movie really jumps out at me. Still it might be enough to get me there, in the hopes of seeing more of it.

A lot of CGI movies lately have made me fall in love with the minor characters you don't see a lot of, and I see the movies just for them. In Ice Age it was Scrat, the little squirrel, in Madagascar it was the penguins, and it looks like it might be the dinosaur in this one.

That was my reaction to the trailer, too, Lyr.

I'm beginning to notice that we have remarkably similar artistic sensibilities in many ways.

We need to get together some time. [Smile]

Next summer it's possible that I'll be in your neck of the woods. I'm taking a southern road trip with some friends of mine this summer, and we've sort of decided that if this trip goes well, next year will be a two week western road trip which would include SoCal, where if I'm not mistaken Ketchup Manor is located.

We'll have to have a movie/music/book/art sharing session. [Smile]

I hope you're not planning it for late June/early July-- when I'll be in OK visiting Boon. I'd be torqed off if I missed you.

Wish it could be sooner. It might not even happen, it'll depend on a LOT of things, though the two biggest are how well this summer's trip goes, and on whether or not my best friend decides to do a semester in Ireland next year, which will eliminate, probably, the chances of getting to California.

If you and the Ketchup Crew happen to swing into Detroit in the next year or two be sure to drop me a line. I'll take ya'll to the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Science Center, Detroit Zoo, Henry Ford Museum and tons of other cool places.

I'm a huge Zoo and aquarium fan. Two of the things I'm most excited about for my road trip this summer are the National Zoo in Washington and the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. Also a big art fan. The DIA just finished a huge addition that added another 100,000 square feet of exhibition space. It's a world class museum.

I'll keep you appraised of my plans for sure.
