How do I keep my computer from downloading a particular update?

It's a hotfix for Windows Media Player 11. It's messing with my mp3 player. I deleted it yesterday, but it looks like my computer re-downloaded it during the night.

Damn you, Windows...

There could be a preference in the Player that you inadvertently allowed when you installed it that automatically downloads updates. I can't check the program until I get to work as I intentionally uninstalled it at home [Wink]

if it's installed already, uninstall it. Once automatic updates downloads it and says it's ready to install, double click the little yellow shield and select Custom Installation, uncheck the update you don't want, hit okay, and then it will as if you want to skip it, and there will be a little check box you can fill telling it not to worry about the update again.
