All of a sudden there's no sound on my computer. The speakers are plugged in -- to each other, to the outlet, to the computer. The volume switch on the speaker is turned up, as it is on the volume settings on the computer. No mute boxes checked.

Is there anything else I can check? I don't get it; one day they work, the next day they don't.

Do your speakers fluctuate randomly between sound and no sound, or is it more of a long-term fluctuation? Also, has this happened before? Maybe your sound card's loose or damaged.

No fluctuation -- all of a sudden there's no sound at all. They worked fine before.

Try the speakers on something else. If they work, then something's screwy with your computer's sound system. If not, your speakers are probably busted. Also, try plugging other speakers/headphones into the sound jack on your computer.
