June 2, Columbia, Maryland (near Baltimore), laid-back 1st season Veronica Mars marathon with cake
Three Hatrackers from around here have birthdays in June, and that is a sufficient excuse for an early summer gathering of the Washington, DC clump. I really love the idea of our 82nd birthday, and so I plan on providing a cake with 82 candles. I think they'll need to be lit with a blowtorch. There will definitely be a fire extinguisher nearby.
Anyone is invited. Below is a tentative list of who said they were interested. Post in this thread if you are interested in coming, have ideas for what we can do at a laid-back gathering, want to bring food, or any combination of the above.

Oh yeah, I'm still interested - even if I'm the non-June birthday. And if any of you 82 birthday peoples have baked goods requests let me know 'cause I like baking and it's much better to bake for other people (because then you're not tempted to eat it all yourself).

That's crazy, -I'm- right around the corner from the hospital, off of Cedar Lane. And that is, incidentally, where the party will be .

Too funny. I went to Swansfield Elementary and Harper's Choice Middle. Would have gone to Wild Lake High, but got stuck in a private school instead.
I was there this past weekend for the wine in the woods. I can't believe how much it has all changed.

My birthday is in June. But do you really want to add 37 more candles? I have digital candles, which I know is a cop out, but we've saved lots of money with them. It's a little LED display with a candle on top.
I don't really have much good ideas on what to bring at the moment. But I do like to bring something, usually something with protein to it like peanut butter/honey/dry milk aggregate or deviled eggs, or possibly cheese. Parties are often long on carbs and short on protein.

Although I am a DC area Hatracker (occasionally, anyway) and my birthday's in June, I don't know any of you people. People from the internet are scary.

No they're not. Most of those people are real. Okay, so they're still a little scary, but not SCARY scary, just regular freakish scary.

I would love to come but I can't make it to this one. The planets just never seem to align for me. Of course it would help if I actually lived closer to the DC area.
Oh, and I'm a little scary but not in the SCARY scary way.

Very weird, this showed up at the top of the front page without pooka's post. I refreshed and her post was there.

Maybe you managed to click on it in some microsecond between the script that bumps the thread and the addition of the post that bumped it. I swear I didn't do a post/delete/post.
