I've got myself a bank job. And yes, the legal kind because ski masks are itchy.
Starting on the 30th, I will be a happily employed teller with Chase Bank.
No more sitting at home filling out applications and waiting anxiously by the phone. No more boring summer afternoons. No more empty pockets.
I've already decided to spend part of my first paycheck at the best sushi restuarant in the city.
I have to go in Friday (early because my evening is all booked up) to sign my contract and paperwork and get a drug test. But then my reign of unemployment will come to an end.

Congratulations! The one bad thing about having a job is that you earn all kinds of money but then you have no time to spend it. When the job comes to an end, you suddenly have plenty of time to enjoy money but no longer have any money to enjoy. One of life's little ironies. Hope you enjoy it!

Actually, that's one of the reasons I'm excited about this job in particular, Tatiana. I get off no later than 6pm on weekdays, never work Sundays, and get ever other Saturday off. Even when I work on Saturdays, I'll still be off work by 2pm.
That gives me my weekends to relax, study at the city libraries, and see my boyfriend (who, as a teacher, also has weekends off). And I've got my weeknights to watch my favorite tv shows and chill. So much better than working til midnight at the movie theatre and working double-shifts all weekend.

Yes, these jobs with regular hours are nice, no?
I enjoyed having weekends off so much that I almost forgot to use any of my vacation time in the past year. What? You mean I get weekends* off and X many vacation days a year? I love this job!
If I can help it, I'll never work retail or food service ever again.
(*) Sometimes I go do work on the weekends. It's quality work time, without interruption.

In other news, I jusyt got employed by the Heinz Factory. It's within walking distance of my house, it pays really well, and I can get a lot of overtime. Happy days all around.
