My girfriend is moving to Austin to take a job. She's selling all her music equipment to help pay for the move and save space. Apparently female guitarists are rare in this neck of the woods. The guy who bought her guitar is giving her a shocked reaction.
Guy: "you mean this is YOURS?" Michelle: "well yeah" Guy: "you really play it?" Will (now 3years old): "CHELLE WOK AND WOLLLLL!!! "

If I can get a job in Austin or San Antonio, but no one there is returning my inquiries at the moment. If everything else fails and the opportunity for Michelle pans out, I may actually go to work for her, as I can do the job as well.
The reason I'm not going straight away is that it'd be a pretty steep pay cut for me, initially. There are performance bonuses that would make it a step forward eventually, but they don't kick in till 6 months. If I can save up enough in the meantime (and that's kind of amazing-- that I've finally reached a point where I may be able to save some), it might be doable.

What line of work are you in? I know lots of people that live/work in Austin and wouldn't mind asking around if you'd like.

I'm a telecom engineer with 10 yrs experience. I've got resumes in at Level3, Grande, and Guadalupe Valley, but no bites yet. I appreciate the offer. A lot.

Hmm, telecom... I don't think I know anyone in that field, but I'll put out a couple of feelers and if anything comes up I'll let you know.
