Hmm. I wonder if it would be worth while to put in a slightly stronger vetting policy for new members? We rarely seem to get any interesting newbies these days, but there's one or two spammers daily. If becoming a member required moderator approval, that might cut things down a bit.

Or (and I don't know if the forum's software supports this) if new members were restricted from posting new topics (say, make it so that you have to have 10 replies first). That'd probably defeat most of the spam bots. Or at least cause them extra hassle.

But what about all the people who aren't really looking to join the community, but have a specific OSC related question. I know the first thing most legitimate new members do it create a thread of some sort. I think a stricter registration criteria is the better way to go.
