Wow. Jim Henson and Jerry Juhl are much-missed by me. This season of The Muppet Show is largely the reason why. While the first season has lots of great bits and wonderful numbers...the characters were still going through major growing pains. Except for Kermit and Rowlf, they were mostly unset and new.
But in Season Two, it all comes together. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and Gonzo become the "core four", driving most of the show.
The musical numbers become more lavish and imaginative. The stories become tighter...yet also more chaotic.
Beaker is introduced, making the Muppet Labs a whole lot funnier.
Great season, great show.
