Unless OSC means the shorts they used to show during "Tracey Ullman" (and he doesn't seem to), the show itself didn't come out until 1989.

He also said Aeon Flux was a video game. What good is pop culture if you have to obsessively research it?

Well, he talks about actually watching the show when it first came out...I believe Married, With Children predated The Simpsons by a couple of years.
Obsessive, nothing. Thanks to the IMDB, finding out what year a show came out is easy.

Yeah, that was off. I find myself oddly puzzled that anyone ever found Married with Children amusing, much less at reflective of family values. What little I saw of the show seemed like they all hated each other's guts. I never saw them fail to be pleased by each other's discomfort.
The Simpsons are not an ideal family, but they do care about each other. Also, they are funnier on their worst day than those tired old "I want sex" "I don't" jokes.
But I suppose I was much too young to find grown-ups sniping at each other anything besides unsettling. *shrug*
