It is truly and vastly obnoxious. Does anyone know of a good way to block its intrusion into my peaceful web surfing?

Possible options:
1. Turn off your speakers.
2. Gouge out your ear drums.
3. Uninstall your sound drivers.
4. Destroy HTML.
5. Open both hands, place them firmly yet snugly upon the ears, open mouth, state the words, "La La La La La" with conviction.

But on a more realistic note, adblock will help make sure that an a particular banner never annoys you twice.

I uninstalled the AIM application many many years ago when it started loading film trailers at random moments while I was working, and playing them in a window I couldn't get rid of.

There should be laws against that kind of thing.

I am getting random sound ads out of no where.
It's driving me insane!
I''ll be just sitting around, chilling, and all of a sudden they come out of nowhere.

There needs to be a LAW, man, a LAW. Adware is eviller than downloading.
