I'm having the toughest time getting excited about going out to a movie tonight. Now some of you will point out that it's not me, it's just the market right now doesn't have any blockbuster movies. But the pith of my question is this:

Is Bourne Ultimatum worth going to the theater to see on the big screen?

Is Bourne Ultimatum coming out on video in the foreseeable future?

I guess, really, we could also opt for the Simpsons (this is at a "cheap" theater which isn't really that cheap by the time we get there across the tollways.) The main thing is for me and my husband to get out of the house for a few hours.

I didn't care for the first two Bourne movies. Yet, despite that I somehow found Ultimatum to be fun and enjoyable. I think I enjoyed it more at the theater than I would have had I watched it at home, even with a big screen and a nice surround sound system.

I understand where you're coming from.

I've seen three movies in the theater in the last year -- The Majestic, Bridge to Terabithia, and Harry Potter.

And I only saw the first two in the theater because it was free.

I love seeing cheap movies at our local Dollar Theater. The halls resemble a Star Trek corridor, but with flashing neon lights on each wall and ceiling. Seats are small but comfy.

I had to think really, really hard about whether I'd seen Ultimatum or not. I know I meant to -- but I finally decided that I hadn't, and that the end of the Supremacy movie was the end of my knowledge of Jason Bourne's story.

Does this mean it's your birthday pooka? Is that what the thread title/going out to movie implies together?

That's what I love about living in Philly. We have 3 "indy" movie theaters. So even if there are no good mainstream films, there's always something there.

They aren't always good films, of course. But it certainly is an experience.

No, but thanks. It's just me realizing I'm trying to get excited about doing something most people would consider fun. It's not that I don't like my husband, I'm just not sure how sitting in a dark room with a lot of strangers not talking helps. I'd rather go out to eat.

The title's a little crude, don't you think?

I can barely watch the trailers for this because the lead, Emile Hirsch, looks so much like my youngest brother that it makes me cry when I imagine him deciding to go off and disappear in the wilderness.

And I don't find the thread title in the least crude. Well, maybe in the least, but that only delights me.

I don't think that you're "old" because you don't like going to see a movie in the theater. I hardly ever see movies in the theater, because it's just not my cup of tea. I'm more of a TV person than a movie person anyway, but I also don't like movie screens. Between the size and the projection I have problems seeing what's happening--my brain just can't process it. *shrugs*

No suggestions on what to see; since I don't go to the movies very often, I hardly ever pay attention to what's currently in theaters.

Yeah. I'm surprised that anybody would find the term "old fart" crude enough to comment on in this setting.

Well, I decided to change it because if it was me, I might decide to change it. Or, what I mean is, I recently asked for a change on a thread.

The scientific term is "flatus", if you want to be precise.

I take full credit for pooka picking "plosive" as a euphemism for "fart." [Smile]
