I downloaded a bunch of internet videos and am trying my hand at making a movie. I have Sony Vegas (which I love), but it doesn't recognize flv videos.
The latest Real Player lets you download videos, but they are all in the ".flv" format.
I googled a program and installed it and my computer crashed. No more experimenting for me.
Does anyone know of a free converter for flv videos?

My setup for the short-term is to use this to transcode any xvid or divx on-the-fly and stream them to my roommates's PS3 which comes with a built in interface to communicate with Media Servers such as Tversity and watch them on a larger monitor in the living room.
This is different from what the OP requires, but is fairly neat

Glad you like it. Right-click and choose Output File Saving Management. That'll let you choose the output folder.
