The idea is that the woman's skin is so smooth that Spiderman lost his grip on her.

Nicely done. Bad for Spider-man, though.

It's bad advertising, because too many people won't get it.

Took me awhile to figure it out.

Then it made me wonder if I should stop shaving in case I one day need saving by a superhero.

Thanks Veet, for letting me fall to my death.

I don't think that's the message they're trying to convey.

You see, it's not an advertisement for Veet, it's really a public service announcement for superheroes.

It's not that Spidey can't hold on to her, it's that she has, as the PSA says, surpisingly smooth skin. He didn't expect that smooth skin, which caused him to underestimate what was required to hold on to her.

But if this PSA campaign is successful, that smooth skin will no longer be surprising, and we'll all be able to sleep better at night.

They also have a Tarzan and King Kong one at the bottom of the page. Cute, albeit somewhat obscure.

Those are fabulous ads. Way more effective for me than the random skinny tan girl in a purple towel.

I thought it was hilarious, though at first I thought Spidey had applied the stuff and thus is ability to grip the woman was compromised.

Silly me.

Now, see, if Superman had been saving her there wouldn't be a problem.

So, lesson for you ladies: if you need Spiderman, Tarzan or King Kong to save you, you better not be naked.

Or... something like that.

Says a lot about Spidey's spider-grip, too. Apparently he can only hold on to you if you have small hairs growing out of your skin.

Note: No women were killed in the making of this ad. She fell on a nice soft male albino and bounced safely into the arms of Kulge the Conquer, who took her off to the nth dimension, where he forced her into a loveless marriage that forced her into a coup-de-tat that left Kulge imprisoned, and this innocent young lady undeniable ruler of the entire Nth dimension and three small islands off the Algerian coast.

The albino alas, died.
