Who needs Christmas and New Years?
All they are doing is keeping me from getting a decent job!
I could have totally taken the 3 day position I was offered, but there's the one month position to consider.
Now the person in charge of that is away on vacation until Thursday! Both positions are due to start on the same day.
And the 3 day position has already been given to SOMEBODY ELSE!
I need a job. Me. Or I'm doomed! I hate these holidays! I am registed with 10 temp places and 9 of them all say the same thing, that there will not be any good jobs until NEXT YEAR!
I wish I could just skip Christmas, skip New Year's day and just go to the middle of January and have a decent job and start bringing in some serious bacon instead of spending this holiday alone because I can't visit anymore since I have no money and I don't get to have an Ideal New Year's Scenerio yet again. Aren't there plenty of stores hiring extra help for the holidays? Of course, you might've already missed that rush.

Yes, I tried calling Target, they said they stopped hiring.
I knew I should have tried them first. I thought I'd have that NEA job for 6 weeks instead of 3 measly days.

Syn, where do you live that work is so hard to find/keep? Do you have a degree and if so, what's it in?

English writing.
I live near boston.
But mostly I bet it's the not having a car thing...

It's 3.

No hope in hearing about this Cambridge job now since everyone is on vacation.
TWO WHOLE WEEKS WITHOUT A DECENT JOB!!! I HATE these stupid holidays so much! Whose idea was it to have them so close to each other? It was a STUPID idea.

I enjoy having them close to each other, personally, since I get the week in between off with pay.

Wow, that's great. Maybe next you can go over to BlackBlade's thread and explain how much you enjoy having two functioning kidneys.

How far out of Boston are you living? I mean--if you're on the T at all, there's definitely work. Any luck on craigslist? People might need some odd-jobs done there.

And, this might sound silly...but next time it snows, walk through neighborhoods with a shovel and street salt. Charge 20 bucks (or more) a driveway, and you've got pocket money.

Speaking of Boston, I moved here back in August and we never got a Boston get-together going. Is everyone coming to the OSC signing at Harvard next month?

I live in Rockland. It's a half an hour walk to the nearest T.
I'm always on Craigslist, but I have only hard from a few places.

I don't know if I can, I can't afford it. I will have to see.
