I noticed you have more posts than me and decided to see if you had a landmark. I found one, along with some indications it was the only one. What happened with the lawsuit? How's school going? It will be hard for me to type the next few days because I accidentally sliced my left pointer trying to open one of those damnagbit tamper proof packages.
Though on the subject of cutting, I used to mess with that when I was dating this guy that I loved madly but who was really different than what I'd been brought up to hope for.

Lyrhawn, I would like to read a landmark of yours too, you seem to have a lot of thoughtful things to say.

I think it's on the second page of the Landmark archive. It was nearly two years ago. I had a brilliant idea to read down the replies today and see if there was any follow up, and I realized he might not want to go on about it. But I'm glad you're still in school, even if it means you're still in school. At least, I think I saw you mention that you're a student and work in an eating establishment in a politics thread.
Anyway, looking over to comments I wasn't looking for any follow up on the lay diagnoses of depression. I really am curious about the car accident and if you graduated.

[thread derail] The best way ever to open those stupid plastic clamshell/tamperproof packages is a can opener - seriously![/derail]

Adam, I agree with everyone else. You really need to do another landmark. You're always so eloquent. I mean, I do know a little bit about what's going on with your life, but I'd like another landmark from you.

pooka - you run the can opener around the edge of the package (like you would around the edge of a can). It really does work!

If you want a specific update, the lawsuit was settled I think a year or so ago. The woman suing me ended up getting $70K from my insurance, and I was furious about it for months because since the lawyer was paid for by the insurance I had no control over any of it, and I wanted the money grubbing liar to get nothing. So, that's settled.
I ended up not going to school last winter, and took off this past fall to pay some bills, which I did. Paid off my car, one of my school loans, my credit card, pretty much everything, but I still have an outstanding bill to school from that last winter semester, which brings us a bit up to date on school. I needed to get a loan to pay off that debt to my school, but it turns out something got foofed up with my FAFSA, so I had to fill out another one, but now it's too late so I won't be going this semester either.
But things are different now than they were then. I think I've grown up a bit, I don't feel like I need to get everything done immediately, and I'm not nearly as stressed as I was a year ago. I'm going to work a lot this semester, get that debt taken care of, get back into school in the Spring, and then go until I graduate, probably in two, two and a half years, and that's perfectly fine with me now. My life isn't quite turning out the way that I would've wanted it to when I first graduated high school, but I know where I'm going now, even considering law school, so I begin every day with the thought that the things I do that day are getting me there, it's just a longer road than I thought it'd be.
I'm surprised to see anyone clamor for a landmark from me. Ya'll don't think I yammer on enough as it is? I've been planning another landmark for March 1st, which is Self Injury Awareness Day, that'll be half PSA on the subject and half autobiographical about my own personal struggle with it, but, I haven't made a for sure decision on whether or not I'll do it.
There's your update pooka, I appreciate the concern. To others who might want a landmark (including my esteemed fellow Michigander), you might get one in a month or so, but otherwise I doubt you'll hear anything else from me in that format until after I'm out of school and on to the next stage of my life, whatever it turns out to be.
