I just realized that this is the best videogame ever!
I beat it many years ago and am doing it again. Who needs my 360 when ive got my good old gamecube!
Anyone else remember this game? ive got a 99 Jester, an 80 Wizard and a 70 Minotaur [The Wave]
Because of the half days for midterms ive been holding Gauntlet parties at my house after school. [Smile]

I have the PS2 version, and played it last year, managing to beat the game. I'd call it a guilty pleasure. It's not the best game in the world, but it's a great tension reliever. Sometimes you just need to mindlessly attack things. [Smile] It's also a great party game.

I played it, but it just got too boring for me too quickly.

When I was younger I am certain this game would have tied me to the couch for hours on end.

We have it on XBox. I was a little scandalized by the sorceresses. They are basically look like french maids dusting a thing the master of the house left on a strategically high shelf.

My friends and I played Gauntlet Legends way back on the Nintendo 64 for hours on end. It was the first addicting non-tabletop RPG we could play together.

Me and my friends used to play one of the gauntlet games for the NES all the time, and I remember them being a blast. I didn't really realize that they were still making them.

I never played dark legacy, but oh how I loved legends. I used to go to the arcade (there wasn't one near me, so it was a trip) just to play it.

I might just have to find all my n64 stuff just for that game....

My friends and I would make up names for all the attacks and yell them out when we used them. "Falling Rocks!"

The title that appeared on the N64 is (sadly) still an unknown for me, since the cartridge has some error that stops the game somewhere in the second level. [Frown]
But I do remember fondly the time spent playing Gauntlet II on the NES. Especially in multi-player mode, when you have to keep conferring on which way to go next, otherwise you end up pushing the edges of the screen and not getting anywhere. My brother and me eventually evolved into a smoothly operating team - smoothly including a whole range of exclamations...which were only drowned out by the computer voice disclaiming the status of our characters:

BLUE WARRIOR HAS TEMPORARY REPULSIVENESS!

"You have found all the runestones in this realm."

I've played through that TWICE in one sitting. Yeah, it was crazy. :-D

We played Gauntlet at one of my Harry Potter parties. I was playing the Red Sorceress, who is, uh, rather enthusiastic about her food. Everyone kept urging me to eat more, because it was funny. [Big Grin]

I tried playing Red Sorceress last year, but I kept dying so I gave up and was Green Archer instead. Not sure what level she was on when I finished the game.

I have beaten the arcade version probably 40 or 50 times, and have had several maxed out level 99 characters on it.

When Gauntlet II was announced they had a competition to design the levels. Three of my friends who worked at a Strohs Ice Cream Parlor/Arcade came in the top 100, and their levels were included in the game.

One of them won it, and received a prize of $5,000 and a sailboard. [Big Grin]

I helped deliver the game when it came in, and I got to play it for free all night long. [Smile]
