Lately in class we have been following the state primaries very closely. I was assigned to a panel composed of half the class and directed to present a detailed analysis on something regarding religion and politics.

I ended up presenting on the effects of Mike Huckabee's campaign on Mitt Romney's. Leading up to Super Tuesday I was more and more convinced that Huckabee was acting as a spoiler for Romney's campaign and that he was handing the election to McCain. After reading up on exit polls and doing more analysis in the wake of Super Tuesday, I think I was wrong. I had no idea the professor expected me to turn in my notes so at the end of class when he asked for them, I told him I'd rather type them up then hand in my handwritten ones.

He said that would be fine, but that evening I ended up writing him an email and saying, that I felt like I was completely wrong in my presentation and that I did not want to send him my notes anymore, as I was embarrassed by them. This professor and I have a good relationship and I've taken other classes from him in the past. He wrote me back this evening, told me not to sweat it and that even the high paid analysts are wrong all the time. He then emailed me some instructions in order to make this up to him. They are as follows without any altercations.

Directions:

1. Take hand-written notes and crumble between your hands.

2. Remove crumpled paper from hands.

3. Purchase small picture frame from Target (they have such nice
frames!)

4. Place notes in frame to remind you that nothing in politics is ever
certain.

5. Retain frame in your office for the remainder of your career.

Failure to present frame to me will result in a reduction of your class
participation grade.

At no time will you type up the notes for this assignment.

------

I'll be going to Target Monday. [Smile]

OK, who WOULD Huckabee's supporters have voted for, do you think? Why do you think that?
