Another spring, another three or four months of tension. For me, anyway. Once we hit summer for real, I find the storms mellow out a bit. Or maybe by that point I've become numb to the pain.

So what am I doing here when I'm about to be hit by bad weather? Sigh.

Distracting myself in the time between the sirens and the storm.

The weirdest part is, other than that second wave worsening as time goes on, it doesn't seem that bad. We rarely ever get sirens, so I'm thinking that freaks me out more than the storm itself.

Yes, the tornado sirens went off around 9:00 this morning. We had a late night - drove to Tuscaloosa to watch Alabama gymnastics defeat Penn State, and didn't get home until 11:00. So, I didn't get much sleep and figured since it was Saturday I'd just be all lazy and stay in bed and read after I woke up instead of getting up.

But, the sirens compelled me to get out of bed and actually find a television with radar and make sure the house wasn't about to be blown up. Fortunately, it was only a tornado on radar - it never touched down and there was no damage.

Alabama men's basketball was playing in the Georgia dome last night when the roof damage occurred - I heard about it at the meet. They've had to relocate the rest of the SEC tourney, from what I hear.

Hope everyone in Atlanta stays safe!

It's been kinda scary around here. Where are you, BlueShadow? I'm in Cherokee county, but the worst seems to have passed us and moved northeast, but they say more thunderstorms are heading this way.

Stay safe!

We've had terrific weather in Michigan lately, above 40 all week(during the day). Sunlight hitting the ground? These are all strange occurrences for us michiganders.

SE Bartow County. From the damage we saw driving down the road it looks like a tornado ran down a road parallel less than a mile from our house. We hid out in the airport just off said road. It took us over an hour to get home, tons of downed trees. Everything here is fine, but we seriously need to invest in a storm shelter.
