...what with science fiction (WALL-E) and wuxia-style fantasy (Kung Fu Panda) being the genres of this year's highest profile flicks.

Then I read this: Alpha and Omega

Guess the "Wacky animals trapped in a fish out of water situation try to find their way home, zaniness ensues!" genre is still in force. [Razz]

You know what happens when a fish stays out of water too long? It starts to stink.

Oh, well. At least the films this year look good. And last year had Ratatouille and Persepolis. And next year has Coraline,The Princess and the Frog, -and- a new Miyazaki film!

Hey, it doesn't sound that bad. I mean you've gotta give anything with Justin Long in it a chance. And it sounds like the role is right up his alley.

Alpha and Omega, eh? And, at least according to the link you gave Puffy Treat, it seems as if there's no tie-in to the religious connotations.
