A fairly good, diverse spread of titles and genres this year. From mature readers autobiographical indie comics to a new Jughead story...and everything in between.
Favorite out of the books I got: Owly and Friends 2008 Sampler
I swear, Andy Runton creates the most appealing all-ages comics in the universe.
Marvel, who decided that their free Iron Man/Hulk comic would be filled with nothing but ads for upcoming Hulk and Iron Man comics. Way to tell instead of show.
Cool weird longbox find: A complete run of Tailgunner Jo, the bizarre experimental 1980s comicbook series about a cyborg assasin who happens to have a ten year old girl and a kingdom of talking animals living in his brain.
The theater I went to yesterday to see Iron Man was actually giving out the free comic book day books (they had worked with some local comic shop). I got the Marvel Adventures story with Iron Man, Hulk, and Spider-Man. It was the best of the ones I saw that they were giving out. I haven't read it yet though.
