I finally did it. I went under the scissors.

I went to the local Aveda Salon and gave the stylist complete creative control.

I should have asked her what she had in mind when she asked me if I was ready. I said yes, and she cut, cut and then cut some more.

I walked out with a thoroughly Modern Millie like "do". She gave me a graduated type bob I guess you'd call it.

I was in shock for the first two days, but now I'm loving it.

I've never had my hair this short. How easy life is now. I have curly/wavy hair and I seriously just wash and go now. I like their products, although they kind of smell like incense. . If I want to get fancy I use a diffuser and a curl tool the stylist gave me (no heat, just a plastic prong like tool to give the curl more definition). I can even go straight with a straightening iron. It's a very versatile, fun cut.

I'm shocked that I waited this long to have this much fun with my hair. I should have gone shorter a long time ago.

Anything else I'm missing out on?

Here's something else you could be missing out on: walking into a tattoo parlor and giving the tattoo artist complete creative control. [Smile]

Congrats on a haircut you like. Few things in life compare to that.

If I had a certain tattoo in mind and the artist was a creative genius and we were totally having a mind meld on what it was that I was wanting, I may let them have some creative control. I'm pretty sure I'd never be that brave, to just say "do whatever you're feeling at the moment".

That's a little to much control, although the stylist that cut my hair had beautiful floral tattoos on her lower back and shoulders. I'd go for a little teeny flower, maybe.

I cut my hair in Dec. It had been long since 5th grade. Quite an adjustment, isn't it?

I chopped mine over a year ago and I'm still not entirely used to it. [Smile]

My wife just donated 18 inches of very, very blonde hair to Locks of Love. She has a curly wave to her hair and she didn't even know it.

She loves it, and while I do miss her long hair, she still has hair past her shoulders, so she still looks great.

She takes a lot less time in the shower now too. [Smile]

I went from long hair to crew-cut.

Not going back either, so much easier - especially in hot weather.

My wife is a stylist and she does this all the time. She loves when people put that much trust in her and they are all very nervous at first then end up totally loving it [Smile]
Since you have a new haircut, try something else very new, like skydiving or volunteering
