I must say never before have I found such an apparent conspiracy to prevent me from finding a good deal.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3905231&CatId=1891

This one looks good, high clock speed, decent video card the ram needs upgrading but that's fine.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3701079&CatId=1891

This one also looks good, slower clock speed but 4x gigs of ram though.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3523910&CatId=2289

This one has its HD 2600 going for it.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3521583&CatId=2289

This one has the slightely higher end 8700 slower clock speed but has 2 GB of ram and can support 4, with laptop cpus being how they are not sure if I'll notice.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3905239&CatId=2289

Deja vu here but I think if I recall has a better native resolution.

basically what I'ld like is a Toshiba or an Asus in the 900-1300 range with 2GB of ram and something leaning towards the "hi end" of video cards and preferably 2 to 3 Ghz range of CPU power. So far this is being extraordinarily hard to find.

Perhaps expanding your search beyond tigerdirect and not limiting yourself to those two brands would help.

What price range do you consider fair for what you want?

I like Newegg.com, and I found this one for about the same price as some of the ones you liked to....

ASUS M51 Series M51Sn-X2 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.40GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR2 667 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS ...

Also that video card has a 9500, thats more or less a low end card supped up to be a midranged, I'ld consider a 9600 to be a minimum, preferably a 9700/9800 hundred.

So you're not really buying a laptop, then? That's a relief.

Prioritize, Blayne. You do not need a laptop for mobile gaming, especially when you're trying to move away from home.

Nothing. You don't have any money.

Er, and neither do I.

I'll put down $20 Canadian that you're not out within a year.I'll require a copy of a utility bill in your name as proof in order to pay up.

Seriously Blayne. With a desktop beast for gaming, which certainly stalled you as far as moving out of your parent's home, why would gaming be anything remotely important in a laptop?

But as you said you're just looking around so I suppose there's not much point saying the above.

Looking is going to eventually lead to your buying. It's like giving in to cravings. Eventually you'll cave.

Good work.
