What this guys says contradicts much of what I have learned from Muslim friends and authoritative sources.
I know from first hand experience that people who choose to leave my church are prone to gross exaggeration, half truths and out right lies about the LDS church. Having seen this first hand, I suspect that same is true for those who choose to leave other religions as well. I view this guys statements with the same level of skepticism I reserve when ever I read statements from apostates from any religion.
I should also add that if this thread had been about a disaffected Mormon who had made such inflammatory claims about the LDS church, the thread would already be locked or deleted.
If it had been about a former orthodox Jew who had converted to Christianity and was telling similar half truths about Judaism and Israel, the anti-semitism would not be tolerated in our community at Hatrack.
I am not sure why we tolerate this sort of hate speech when its directed against Islam. I hope its solely because Papa Janitor hasn't seen the thread yet.
