I've recently begun to pass embedded ads online than advertise for the location of Clark. Clark, NJ happens to be a township adjacent to the town I live in. I'm worrying that something is obtaining information from either my PC or from my ISP. Should I really worry as much as I am?

It is almost certainly from your IP. (Not a typo for ISP.) Shub-Internet is watching you; get used to it.

Yes you will even find on certain sites that ads will pop up that are related to recent searches you did or sites that you visited. I know often when I am on my myspace page all the ads tend to do with something that I looked at recently!

You can actually buy lists that narrow down IP addresses to, in some cases, even zip codes. But it's not an exact science; for example, sites that use said lists think I'm 60 miles away from where I really am.
Also, if you're using AOL, 99% of services like that will place you in Virginia.
It's called "geo-targeting", and it's all the rage in the advertising world.

Yeah, there's even a free one that's around 80% accurate to within fifty miles, or something like that.
