I just had a discussion with someone about whether or not they tasted the same. I made an adamant case that goldfish were superior, but when I really thought about it, there's barely any discernible difference.

So, who wins for cheese cracker supremacy?

They are very different.
Cheez-its are often too cheesy, while Goldfish can be too cracker...y.
Goldfish would be much better if they all had enough salt on them.
I think Goldfish win, although, the real winner is us.

Not all goldfish are cheese flavored. But anyway, Cheez-its win for me.

White Cheese Cheeze-Its, for heaven's sake! Far superior to those nasty little cardboard fish.

Cheez-its have changed since my childhood, not as good as they used to be. Goldfish are still good.

Cheez-its!

Though I do enjoy goldfish. And if you are to eat cheez-its, you should have the BIG ones... they're the best!

Neither. They both are horrible.

Wheat Thins.

I want cheese on my crackers, I'm slicing it myself.

I do think that Cheez-its are too strong. The flavor is the same, but I can only get through a few of 'em before my mouth feels caked with cheese. Goldfish I can wolf down, and happily at that.

And I was only including cheddar goldfish and cheddar cheez-its. Most other goldfish types are garbage, and there are some cheez-its that are remarkably better than the regular cheez-it cheddar flavor (tabasco, anyone?)

Tell me why are you even eating those boxes of chemical death in the first place?

Try an apple; go on, it won't kill you.

Eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich; that's far better for you then those boxes of chemical death.

But then, that's just my opinion.

This is correct.

I'm known at work for always having a gigantic box of goldfish crackers open on my desk that I'm stuffing my face with. I often tell my friends about this certain type of rat poison, which, when ingested by the rats, makes them thirsty. And the thirst can never be quenched. They just drink and drink and drink until they burst. That's what goldfish crackers are like for me. I could eat them and eat them and eat them until I burst.

Goldfish aren't kosher. Gefilte fish is, but it's hardly the same thing.

I prefer the white cheddar Cheez-its, because they don't make my fingers orange.

But, for the bestest cheesy cracker experience, melt a slice of Emmenthaler on a Wasa in the toaster oven. That's practically a meal!

Now, are we talking stained orange? Like Cheetos?

I don't know from Cheetos.

Not stained, though. You can wash (or lick) off the orangeness. But, still, it bothers me that it comes off onto my fingers at all.

I've never had that problem.
Some crumbs get on my fingers, but it comes right off. Not a problem at all.
Strange.

Jelly is just a bunch of high-fructose corn-syrup. I never should have read the label.

What, no love for Cheese Nips?

Personally, I prefer Cheez-IT to Goldfish.

Also, to throw another debate in here, we argued a lot in college as to what the proper plural of "Cheez-IT" should be. I am firmly on the side that "Cheez-IT" is its own plural, much like "Kleenex". Nowhere on the packaging is "Cheez-IT" pluralized, other than to say "Cheez-IT snack crackers".

So, whether you have one Cheez-IT or a handful of Cheez-IT, it doesn't add an "s".

Nips on the other hand, are a different story...

I prefer to spray my cheese if I'm not going with the previously cheese-impregnated crackers. The spray cheese even forms its own handy nozzle stoppers in between uses!

Cheese Nips? No . Heaven's no.

Cheez-its are delicious. Especially the burnt ones.

However, I can eat more goldfish if I'm just mindlessly eating..

I keep seeing the title of this thread and thinking that it's "Godzilla vs. Cheez-its".

I submit that in that contest, Godzilla would be heavily favored to win, what with being animate and all.

Good point.

But never underestimate the soporific power of a limitless supply of carbohydrates. I'm guessing, eventually a draw.

Definitely Cheez-Its if they're fresh. They're heavenly. I was dying from this horrible chest/head/throat thing recently and Sasha brought me some Cheez-Its and saved my life. They're good for whatever ails you.

Cheez-Its are a sentimental favorite from my youth. Goldfish are probably a little bit better for you- they seem, likely, a tad more wholesome.

But if you put both before me, I'd reflexively go for the Cheez-Its.

White Cheddar Cheez-Its do something weird if they're left in a bag for too long (speaking from vending machine experience.) I fear if you left them for very long, you might end up with Bleu Cheez-Its.

(Speaking of which, Trader Joe's actually has a tiny Roquefort cracker which is pretty tasty.)

Yesterday when I was helping out in Nursery at church, I tried a cheesy cracker from the Dollar Store. It's supposed to be like Goldfish crackers, except they have all sorts of deep-sea animals, including squid. I love squid!

It had a sort of macaroon-like taste with the cheese, which I never would have thought would be an improvement, and yet is.

Mmmmm. Coconut cheese.
