A friend wants to make a character based on Jack what would most closely resemble him?

I'm thinking some combination of fighter, swashbuckler, brawler? Is there a brawler class? Like I could give him a single shot (or 2) pistols and he'ld be close.

I'd say make him a fighter with a high charisma. Characters are allowed to have personality traits that aren't tied to their feats or class abilities.

He'd be a rogue 3, fighter 8.

"Swashbuckler" I think fits Jacks character, but the implication of sword usage would be inaccurate. Of course, given the fact that this is DnD, I doubt there are many gun toting characters.

Make sure whatever you do with the character, they need a little magic. Something akin to Jack's ability to regenerate.

When you said "Which edition," Tom, I thought at first which edition of Jack.

There's the pre-Doctor Jack from his Time Agency days. There's the rogue Jack selling space junk. There's Jack with the Doctor very happy go lucky. Then there's Torchwood Jack who is a different beast.

Course they probably all have the same class with different roleplay. What do I know [Smile]
