So people in war stories are always saying "Receiving you loud and clear" when they check that their radio gear works. It seems to me that radio gear ought not always to work, or why check it? So the question is, what do you say when it's not working? "Loud but blurry"? "Quiet but clear"? "Quiet with static"? Important questions!

In any kind of military radio contact it is VERY important to make sure they can hear you. If they mishear coordinates your own people can die, etc.
Usually the response if unclear would be "come again" or "please repeat".
