I have not posted since late October, why because my main computer was starting to croak on me. So I decided to prevent a total data loss, I sent my baby Dell up to Canada to my sister to build me a totally new computer for my writing and internetting.
Well, it was all good and peachy. Everything went smoothly. The new baby worked perfectly up there for her before she boxed her up and sent her to me.
Upon arrival here at my home, I heard noises coming from the tower itself and I had not even removed it from the box itself. So I knew something bad was wrong with my baby computer.
Opened the box and lifted her partially out of the box and promptly placed her back in. The case was damaged to the point where you could see within the tower itself. There loose within the tower case was one of two hard drives. The 3x5 floppy drive was bent out of shape in its location.
I called my friend crying over the damages. There was no way we could repair it. So tomorrow morning or afternoon, I'll be taking her back into the PO to claim the money from the insurance that we put down on it and have them remove the two hard drives and pitch them since they would not really be able to boot up since both are damaged.
Now, I've lost all of my writing links in my favorite file. I didn't back that up like I should have done before I sent her off.
So, if you have any good writing sites that you love, could you share them with me please? Writing reference sites, Agents listings will be great too.

Not really on the Blab, I remember you more from Cascade, Model Arabians, or something back around 2002.

Hard drives are supposed to be able to withstand some shock when they are not powered up. I would not throw away the drives without checking to see whether they still function, if I were you.

I'm a big fan of Advanced Fiction Writing.com. Randy Ingermanson has a blog that's really more like a free writing class. He picks a topic, lectures on it for a week or so, answers questions, and takes examples from the class.
I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone else's favorite sites. There's no such thing as too much info on writing that works.

Good luck on your insurance claim. My xbox 360 disappeared in October 2007, and I didn't have money to buy a new one until February 2008 (which coincided with an inventory clearance where I wasn't able to buy a new one until March or April).
