BTW -- Anybody know of a quick&dirty way to slow down / stop / reverse / control the frame rate on animation such as this?

I saw an exibit on minimal sufraces using soap films at the Boston Museum of Science, it was very cool...

Well, I had to do SOMETHING while I waited for hours for the LOTR exibit... [Big Grin]

Its a gif, so just use any program that allows you to change the framerate of a gif. There should be some free ones.

That's what I'm asking about, a recommendation or some info on how to find such a program.
A way to slow down MacromediaFlash animation would be nice too.
Googling " gif animation " or " flash animation " ain't gonna get me anywhere.
And it would be nice to know that a particular program is safe to download.

Sorry, Boris, my free link won't lead to the page I wanted but rather defaults to the homepage.
Click on MEDIA then Video Gallery and check out the other videos.

Especially check out the first jumper on the "FastestMo..." video and watch the horizontal distance he travels during the vertical freefall. "BirdMan_Eiger_s" is nice for watching such controlled flight too.
And the "5deMayo.wmv" has some nice music to go along with the visuals.

If you have Adobe After Effects, you can import the .gif and it it to a render que. There's all sorts of settings you can fiddle around with - frame rate included.

The GIMP (with the GIMP animation package installed) will let you do what you want with an animated .gif.

Give it a try.

Oh sure... Ya say that. Then fly away.

Thanks, DSH, so far the program looks like lots of fun ahead.

Can't really blame him, Tante Shvester. Ya know what happened the last time he strapped on wings. If the dolphins hadn't been around to save him, he woulda had a really Icky time.

More like an eagle's nest: If you build it, they will climb.

It would be pretty trivial to import it into matlab and then do all those things.
