First my printer broke (I complained about that in another thread) and now, my brand new wii fit, thinks that I'm standing on it when I'm not. And of course, it's too late at night to call because they don't bother to have 24 hour customer service. [Mad]

You tried resetting the board already, I'm assuming?

Several times. I followed all the steps, and of course, since I can't get past the body check part in wii fit, I can't get to the area that will run a diagnostic on the board. The machine knows it's turned on, I get the little tone and the solid blue light, but when you get to the body check area, it just keeps telling me to step off and hit a. I've even tried standing on the board, then stepping off and pressing a, to see if that would do it. No dice.

I'm taking issue with Nintendo's solution as well. They are having me ship it to them for repair. This item was DOA, it should not be repaired, it should be replaced with a new device. I work in electronics and when something doesn't work straight out of the box the customer gets a new one, not to send it away for 10 days for repair.

Depending on what state you live in, and how long ago you bought it, don't ship it back. Many states have what is called an implied warranty law, that over rules any company or store return policy. Basically if there is something wrong with it in an "unreasonable" amount of time after purchase, the STORE is solely responsible for replacing it.

I purchased a 27 inch RCA from Walmart. 6 months later it just stopped working. I printed out the law from Maryland's attorney general web site, demanded a manager. He offered to replace it, but I decided I did not want to risk another RCA, so I asked for store credit instead. Walmart store credit is as good as cash in my household.

Don't call, it is too easy for them to give you a run around on the phone. Take it with the receipt back to the store.

The problem is that the store (amazon in this case) like everyone else, is out of stock and there is no guarantee of when they will get new stock in. They sold out in less than a day the last time they had stock, so if I have any hope of getting a replacement (or a fix) in a reasonable amount of time I have to go with Nintendo. While it's annoying, it's not amazon's fault, these games are selling out extremely quickly. I might be able to demand my money back, or even a replacement device when they next get them in stock, but they don't know when they'll be getting more in stock to guarantee delivery. I know with the repair service that I'll have my game back in 10 days.
