Alledgedly according to subbing group Dattebayo[DB] they have stopped subbing Naruto Shipuuden and episode 91 was their final episode (not a joke, drill, or troll) citing that Viz will be offering the same services but officially on behalf of the anime producer people for free 1 week from release of said latest episode as shown in Japan or for a small fee right away.

I like this as now I nolonger have to get into stupid ethical argument with people who think theyre better for me for waiting the 8 months for the box set of the first season to come out when the series in Japan is on season 2089.

Anyone else with information, so far after a bit of googling I haven't quite found the service in question and would be nice to continue watchng Naruto (preferably once the latest stupid side arc is over).

Seems they're still subbing Bleach though yay.

Press release.

And here's a link to a blog I frequent that sums up my feelings nicely. Viz subs are going to suck. Get ready for it.

I know Blayne writes in Canadian English... but it can't be THAT different. I sometimes feel like I suffer from sensory aphasia when I read him.

"The requested video cannot be displayed in your region".

That's what I get for trying to go legit. Ah well. Back to fansubs.

I honestly don't care; I'm just glad Dattebayo got to sub episode 82. That was the only one I was really worried about. But most of Shippuuden is terrible, and I don't really watch it.

I'll stick with the manga, thanks.

There are some parts that I'm looking forward to seeing animated, such as Sasuke vs. Itachi and the fights involving Pain.

I mean, I think I would be excited about those if the studio didn't have such a bad track record. I was so disappointed with how they handled the whole Gaara arc. I'm afraid to get my hopes up too much for an amazing episode where Sage Naruto makes his first appearance. There's too much of a chance that it will be horrible.

That said, I know enough Japanese to get by with the raws if they do happen to animate it well. I'm really not interested in Viz's efforts.

I am sorry but SCREW THEM.

Why should "I" the loyal customer and fan have to do BACKFLIPS to legitimately enjoy something? This is how it is with SecurRom, with ck key Validation, enough is enough if they don't have the common decency to display the damn site in such a way that Canadians can watch it so screw it.

However if no one else is subbing Naruto or it is offered in Canada (and mistaken his countyr of origin) and Ill use it.

DB was good quality though afaik, if someone else fills their shoes and theyre just as bad as Viz then what do I lose going legit? If however not only is Viz bad, unwatchable in Canada, AND someone roughly as good as DB comes along, good bye Viz.

The site NarutoCentral has featured the last couple of episodes by some sub group (can't recall the name, just not DB). It seemed like quality stuff to me.

I dunno dude. If they wanted you to be able to see it in Canada, they would allow you to see it in Canada. You should try living here, and having to do backflips just to gain access to English versions of sites you use every day- or having to use an IP blocker to view most sites that contain Copywrited videos, sometimes even including youtube.

You could just learn japanese...

There's already at least one other group doing it, which is why I won't go to the trouble of using an IP blocker just to watch the legit version. If Viz doesn't want to provide that service for Canadian residents its really no sweat off my back. The fansub community would never let a series as popular as Naruto go unsubbed.

Er... I'll admit I'm a little lost.

Then again, I'm on like episode 274 or something, subbed by who knows what person or group. My brother gets box sets or whatever you'd like to call them from this site.

Well, did I really claim to be? Thanks for the insult, I guess.

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder why I get on here at all.

It's not a contest, and I'll be the last person to go around flaunting my knowledge (lack of?) or connections (because I have none). Just wanted to toss the link out.

Way to welcome a fairly new face. [Cry]

I am not making fun of Traceria. I'm making fun of Blayne. I do this all the time. It's in good fun, and it doesn't upset him, or anybody else (apparently until now).

Unfortunately it's upset you, but really, read into the context or just jump around a few threads and decide if you *really* think that was serious.

I don't watch anime, and I don't often write leatspeak. It was a joke directed at someone else. No apology is necessary. Get over it. [Big Grin]

Welcome to Hatrack.

leatspeak

That is totally what got me. Are we in official truce now, particularly since I made such a fool of myself all on my own? [Blushing]
