One of the main elements in the story involves cats who play jazz.

The story takes place in 1910 Paris.

The type of jazz they play was invented in America about 10 to 20 years after the fact.

Another problem-- they were CATS who played JAZZZ!

I've had cats.

I've had cats who jumped on piano keyboards.

They never once came close to doing anything that resembled any type of known music.

Well, except that one who kept playing the theme song to Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, but he was just weird.

Clearly, you're mistaken. That type of jazz was first played by humans about 10-20 years afterwards, but the kitties clearly came up with it first.

CanIHazJazz? Thx.

I had a cat who seemed to be speaking Hebrew, but she was just coughing up a hairball.

In my experience, cats prefer Simon & Garfunkel over anything else nine times out of ten.

Or... the type of jazz they play was invented by cats in 1910 Paris, and was only later discovered by human beings in America 10 or 20 years later. If cats wrote the history books, perhaps we'd know the truth....

Edit: Wow, Lisa was fast!

I know, it was a typo. But by the time I noticed it, I didn't feel like editing it.

Another little known musical fact: Johnny B. Goode was actually first preformed by some white dude at a high school dance.

Yah I know, strange but true.

Nuh uh, everyone knows they swoon over Yusuf Islam.

Also for a movie that insists one must know their scales and arpeggios those kittens sure didn't practice the piano very much throughout the movie.

Shouldn't the title be "Problem with Aristocats: It's a Disney Film"?

Cats prefer to play Schoenberg or Varese. This is well documented.

Yeah, and they prefer boysenberry more than any ordinary jam. Which is to say, not at all.

Cats are finicky and like to assert their individualism enough that making such a general statement is quite bold. Fenny absolutely loves things like jam and pepperoni and lemon pound cake (together? wouldn't put it past her) that sometimes I think she's really a dog in disguise.

My cats were partial to Silk Soy Chocolate Milk, so much so that they would race after me into the kitchen, and if I pulled anything else out of the fridge they'd lose interest.
