And here I thought this was yet another rant about Mr. Card having strange views on something.

That lead me on an Internet scavenger hunt that included photoshop disasters, interesting illustions and how Joe Posnanski got dropped by HostMonster and had to find a new hosting company on a weekend and get his blog back.

Now I have to get ready for work, but I'm not sure my brain will follow. Must. Shut. Computer. Off.

1)Open a company that markets some mass-comsumer product.
2)Use this as the inspiration for your particular comment card, with clever, original questions, deviations in format as necessary.
3)Post this in a thread on hatrack.
4)???
5)Profit!

That is awesome. Reminds me of something by Mil Millington.

I thought it was funny until I found their website and saw the meat puppet video. It was really disgusting and surreal. Freaks.

Curse my curiosity.

That video is enough to make me never, ever want to buy any of their products. In fact, I think I'll make a stipulation in my will that none of my descendants - for as long as that company is in business - should ever buy their products. Or their in-laws, friends and acquaintances. Ever.

looks to me like the typesetting, fonts and layout is in the style of the old 1920s-era advertising. You know, like you used to see on the Wendy's tables [Wink] or the old-era Sears & Roebuck catalog reprints. I think they were going for that look.

(like This or This, kinda)

Yeah, they were definitely going for the old handbill look.

The meat puppet video was pretty pointless and dumb, if you ask me, but I didn't think it was all that disturbing.

I wonder if the comment card and video are as indulgent and detached as they seem, or if the company really believes that in some way they influence people to buy Diesel brand crap?
