My 2 year old niece is in the hospital suffering from pneumonia. She is not doing well, and is on a very intensive antibiotic regime to stop the infection. She has one lung filled and the other is filling, and her heart rate was very high as well.
Since she is not my child I am not really able to share any more details than that. I am not sure how my sisters family would feel about me posting any more details on line.
We could use all the help and good wishes we can get, particularly since she is so little, Pneumonia kills the young and the old at a much greater rate than healthy adults, and even the doctors are very worried about her. This is day 3 and she isn't really improving.
And of course I am down here, thousands of miles away, feeling crappy about it. I am so glad my sister lucked out the same way I did....both our in-laws are great, and very supportive. About the only thing that could make this worse for my sister and her husband is if they had to go though it alone.

I will be praying for your niece. I'll also pray for your sister. I can only imagine how distraut I would be if my daughter was sick. I hope her doctors are able to put her on the road to recovery!

Aerin had pneumonia at 37 weeks gestation (at which time she was already 3 months old), so I know what your family is going through. My heart goes out to y'all and that little girl.
