Hey all,

I am pretty active in the SCA, and a friend of mine broke his collarbone during the MidEast alliance unbelted champions battle on friday. He had to have surgery yesterday and had a steel plate put ono his clavicle. William (his SCA name) Mike Horsely in the real world, is freshly employed and without health insurance. His brother Gabriel (also SCA name) or Nick Horsely has setup a paypal account for people to help out with his medical bills. I doubt any of you know him (unless there are any secret SCAdians here), but he is a dear friend, and this injury will take him out for some months as well as be a serious financial burden, any help you can give will be very appreciated. I am posting the link below

Your friend should check to see if the hospital has a program to help people with medical bills. I know that our local hospital does have a program like this, and they tell people about it when they register. It's possible he might have missed this when he went to the hospital.

Our hospital is run by what (as far as I can tell) are a bunch of douches, it took us several hours of arguing to even get them to perform the surgery without insurance, even though we could pay for it after we pooled. Whats going to be the draw on finances in medication and rehab and checkups, cause we pretty much blew our load on the surgery.
