SO I have started playing D&D 3.5 with a group of work friends twice a month. Our kids play together and we chat and play. It's kinda cool.

I am thinking of going the Dragon Disciple route. I want to go 2 levels monk, then 4 levels sorcerer, then start the Dragon Disciple.

My question is, does the damage on unarmed attacks (monk) stack with the damage on claw and bite attacks as a dragon disciple? He won't have weapons so I think it would. Or is unarmed mean you can't add the damage rolls from claws?

If it doesn't, I am thinking of 2 fighter (as a human) and choosing the two weapon fighting feats.

the Order of the Stick forums http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=30 have alot of knowledgeable people who can probably help you out AND you can read the most awesome D&D webcomic ever.

I would argue that they SHOULD stack as Monk is kinda weak and having claw and bite attack isn't really helpful long term and they would especially suck separate so if they stack then you can have a much more combat capable brawler for much longer and be relevent even mid to late game.

Being a Sorceror I really suggest reading Dragon Magic for nifty dragon themed spells.

Hmm...

Monk gives you improved unarmed strike feat at first level.

Looking over Improved Unarmed Strike feat, I don't believe it has that effect... though I could be wrong, and I know there are a few other abilities that allow you to stack.

Try a Warforged Monk with a battlefist, for example. Either way, get a Monk's Belt ASAP.

Also, Dragon Disciple isn't all that great as a prestige class... but then, I'm thinking more stats than flavor. It DOES have decent flavor, but there's a class in the PHBII, the Dragon Shaman, that has some fun abilities and does the "dragon" thing better in my opinion.

Dragon Disciple actually is a pretty good class as afaik you keep your spell progression.

Claw and bite attacks are natural weapons, not unarmed strikes. Creatures with natural weapons are considered armed, and attacking with them does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Also, you do not get additional attacks with natural weapons due to a high base attack bonus, like you would with an unarmed strike or any other weapon. They do not stack with unarmed strikes because they count as different weapons.

We are sticking with the 3.5 books, including Adventuraer, Warrior, and the Arcane one.

So how many attacks do the bite and claw get? 1 of each or 2 claws and 1 bite? Am I understanding correctly that the extra attacks do nothing, so they all attack at the highest attack base?

I was thinking they stack since monks can use kama and nunchukas.

That's because it's listed explicitly as a special monk weapon.

IIRC the bite's attack bonus would be five less than the claws. So Claw/Claw +6/+6 Bite +1, or whatever your BAB and other bonuses work out to be.

Well, I am torn now. Maybe I should do 2 Fighter / 4 sorcerer / start Dragon Disciple so I get more feats. Or maybe I will just make a wizard who specializes in summoning and then do an Alienist.

It does not stack. When unarmed damage stacks with monk unarmed damage in a prestige class it specifically states it. You should still have the option of using an unarmed attack though.
Dragon Disciple is a pretty weak PRC though, if you want power go for something else. Crystal Keep has a fantastic PRC list.

If you want the flavor though by all means go for it.
