Robert J. Sawyer posted on Twitter that Jeanne Robinson (Spider Robinson's wife, and coauthor of the Stardance series) has died of the cancer she's been fighting for the past couple years.

Dammit, dammit, dammit.

My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I saw a few weeks ago that she'd gone home for end-of-life care, so I knew it was imminent. That doesn't make it any less sad, though.

Spider Robinson posted details of Jeanne's passing at his site and at the Stardance Project blog. From his moving account she went peacefully, with dignity, without pain, and with her family surrounding her. Good. She deserved no less.

Very sad to hear of this. More familiar with Spider, but Jeanne's own accomplishments in writing and dance were remarkable.

I work in hospice, and I was very glad to hear she used their services for her EOL care. Too many people have the wrong idea of what hospice is about, and it is one of the most under-utilized resources in the healthcare field.

My thoughts and prayers go out of her family.
